In 2010, ATI partnered with the cities of Albany and Millersburg, Oregon, to design and bring to life an engineered water treatment wetland. Named Talking Water Gardens, the scenic waterfalls, trails, and ponds stretch over 37 acres. The environment is constructed to mimic natural processes which clean and cool water within nature. Talking Water serves as the final stop for treated wastewater before it is fully renewed and discharged back into the Willamette River. The project serves as yet another example of ATI's efforts to recycle wastewater in all facilities, resulting in more than 7 billion gallons of water recycled in total in 2021.
